A little one has come and gone
At first there was great joy, a song
But life here ended, far too fast
…it wasn’t meant to last
Oh little one we briefly knew
We thought we’d share our lives with you
Instead with Father you now are
Too bad it seems so far
Oh little one with God, rejoice
For though it wouldn’t have been my choice
With Him your life is better, I say
Forward we look to seeing you someday
Oh little tiny bubble on the screen
Inside my heart just wants to scream
Here last week, but gone today
We won’t get to watch you play
Oh little one without a name
Perhaps the Master you’d have brought great fame
Yet to Him nameless you are not
Even though our hearts are fraught
The pain, the sadness, oh the tears
A mother’s most unspeakable fears
A little one who came and went
A great gift from Above sent
A miracle of life inside
Yet ripped away from my bride
Gone the little one, far too soon,
To be with the Greatest Bridegroom
Good bye, our little tender one
Now with the One you came from
Know that surely we’ll miss you
…but God will see us through!
