Sitting in the forest, oh so refreshing!
Sounds of nature, praising God, what a blessing!
Air so pure, plants diverse, all shapes and sizes
yet each one made unique, my simple brain surmises.
Birds of different kinds singing melodious tunes
Kaleidoscope of colors adorning ornate plumes
Small trees, slender, climbing toward the light;
large trees, decades old, majestically delight.
Little critters here and there some seen, others not.
Most quite jittery I’d say, they’re trying not to get caught!
Gentle breeze makes plants dance. trees creak to and fro
Glorious is the sacred place, up high and down below.
Wildlife occasionally let’s itself be seen
and when they do be still! Hold breath! To this moment cling!
For soon they’ll scamper off and completely disappear
Even though, in fact, they might still be quite near.
A peaceful place the forest is, for outsiders like me.
For I don’t have to fear a predator behind that tree.
Serene and lonely, what a beautiful place!
Thank you, God, for bringing me to seek your face!
