As I’m turning 46 today
I’m taking time to think and pray
Looking up to the clear, blue sky
I wonder: “Is life passing me by?”
No, life is busy, always full
too much at times, but never dull
In all my toil, have I done enough?
Reflected Jesus, when times are tough?
Life has highs and life has lows
Simultaneous encouragement & different blows
Mountains of elation, valleys of gloom
Joy in watching kids laugh, and dance around the room
Have I done enough? Saved enough?
Encouraged enough? Loved, even the rough?
Am I growing daily in sanctification,
impacting my community, and the nation?
Lord, you are faithful in every circumstance
when troubles strike, but also when I dance
for joy, and my heart wants to shout
…of Your goodness there is no doubt!
May the next years be even better than the ones up to now
until that day when at Your feet, Jesus, I will bow!
Through trials, mold me, shape me, Lord …that one day I may be
a vessel overflowing in whom others Jesus see!
